Dr. Eugene Lipov is one of the world’s leading experts on the physical consequences of trauma. A board-certified physician in anesthesiology & pain, Chief Medical Officer at Stella Center, and author of The Invisible Machine: The Startling Truth about Trauma and the Scientific Breakthrough that can Transform Your Life (April 11, 2023), Dr. Lipov has made it his mission to help others find relief from symptoms of stress, anxiety, etc. and restore hope to their spirit. Dr. Lipov knows first-hand that trauma can be all-consuming. He grew up in Ukrainian SSR; and his father was a military veteran stricken with PTSD, and his mother suffered from debilitating depression, eventually taking her own life. He has has witnessed the physical, emotional and psychological impact that trauma can have on the lives of many.
When he’s not caring for patients, his expertise and determination find him on a quest towards shifting the understanding of post-traumatic stress (PTS). In 2006, Dr. Lipov pioneered the use of stellate ganglion block (SGB) to treat survivors of PTS — today, his treatment protocol is known as dual sympathetic reset (DSR). As his work evolved, and as diagnostic imaging technology advanced, an evidentiary realization emerged: the emotional and behavioral struggles that plague the survivors of psychological trauma are actually the result of a biological change — observable and measurable in the brain. It is this fact that justifies the science argument for a change to PTSI instead of PTSD.

The Erase PTSD Now! (501c3 ) folks are truly passionate about eradicating PTSD from the lives of those impacted by it. They want to see individuals, as well as affected families and communities, restored to a pre-trauma state. They understand that hurt people often hurt others, and they are committed to breaking the cycles of pain that plague our society by funding proper treatment of trauma, research, and awareness. In May 2023, the organization produced a PSA titled “It’s PTSI,” (displayed above) that presents the core argument — in under 60 seconds — that is outlined in more detail here, on ItsPTSI.com.
